Parish Church

A most successful afternon was enjoyed by all present at the annual “Taste of Christmas” event. Entertainment was supplied by Jerry Smith, delicious three course meal by Bar and Session and on-the-spot poetry and meaningful service was delivered by Rev. Dr J. M. Henderson. Thanks to all who helped in any way. Congregational Board meets tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. The Kirk Session will meet thereafter. On door duty are Mrs A. Gardiner, Mr J. Christie, Mr J. McLellan and Mr G. Ferguson. The flowers for this service are being donated by Mhairi Smith. On tea duty are Mrs M. Ferguson, Mr P. Ferguson, Mr B.Daye, and Mrs J. Currie. Mary and Joseph are continuing their Advent journey around the congregation. There is an opportunity to donate to Falkirk Food Bank over the weeks of Advent. Please leave donations in information area. The Guild ladies are invited to Redding and Westquarter Guild on Tuesday. There will be no meeting in our hall.

Gospel Hall

The preacher at the 3 p.m. Sunday Gospel meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel Hall will be Mr Joe Baxter from Livingston. Tea and biscuits will be served afterwards. Everyone is welcome.


A warm welcome is extended to all supporters of L.O.F.W.A. to attend the Coffee Morning today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. when the school choir will entertain with a special invitation to parents and families of the children in the choir. The Christmas party in the hall on December 19 commences at 7 p.m., not the normal time of 7.30 p.m. All supporters of L.O.F.W.A. are warmly invited.

Medium’s Visit

Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Sharon Leitch and ann Brown from Armadale as guest mediums for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday, doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
