The annual Spring Song of Laurieston Church Guild will be held in the church hall on Tuesday, April 1, at 7.30 p.m. Admission including supper is £5 which can be paid at the door. Our guests this year are Forth Bridges Accordion Band which may attract the gentlemen.
Continuing the study of Christian paintings, last week’s theme was “The woman at the well”. All are welcome to attend Morning Worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. Please see separate item for the Guild -Spring Song. On door duty next week are Mrs A. Gardiner, Mr J. Christie, Mr G. Ferguson and Mr J. McLellan. On tea duty are: M. Andrew, J. White, C. Park and M. Walker. The flowers for this service are being donated by Mrs Margaret Hoggan. Holy Week Services: Monday, April 14, Wallacestone Methodist Church; Tuesday, April 15, Polmont Old Church; Wednesday, April 16, Redding and Westquarter Church; Thursday, April 17, Brightons Church (Maundy Thursday Communion); Friday, April 18, Muiravonside Church (Good Friday). The Caption Competition prize for the best caption or word bubble suggestion for the minister’s photo. Entries cost £1 for the refurbishment fund. Closing date Easter Sunday.
The evening walks will recommence on Wednesday, April 2. Just turn up at Laurieston Square for 7 p.m. and and enjoy a walk around the south paths. New flute band started in Laurieston - looking for fluters and drummers. We meet on a Monday and a Wednesday from 8-10 p.m. in Laurieston Community Hall. On April 26 the band will be holding a games day with night entertainment in the Laurieston hall from noon - 6 p.m. then a blue night with a loyalist singer from 7.30 p.m. - late. Tickets are priced at £5 each for day or evening and can be bought at the door on the day.
An evening session is on every Sunday in Laurieston Community Hall (in the park). Doors open 6 p.m. eyes down 6.45 p.m. Two snowballs to play for. Refreshments available. Call 07773 991 931.
Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Brian McTaggart from Motherwell as guest medium for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday, March 31. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
The preacher at the 3 p.m. Sunday Gospel meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel Hall, will be Michael Drumond from Armadale. Tea and biscuits will be served afterwards. Everyone is very welcome.
