Launch of new interactive game for literature lovers

That’s the question posed by travel deal experts Travelzoo with their new interactive game, perfect for bookworms and coinciding with an important year for British literature.

The company’s Guide to Literary Britain asks literature-lovers to match 11 books to the geographical locations which inspired them.

Everyone who plays the quiz gets a book-smart score to share with their friends and is entered into a prize draw for a two-night stay at the Wordsworth Hotel in the Lake District - perfect for a literary weekend away.

The launch of the game comes as 2016 sees a number of important anniversaries taking place, including: 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death; 200th anniversary of Charlotte Bronte’s birth; 150th anniversary of the birth of author Beatrix Potter and 100th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s birth.

That’s alongside a number of other events, including: World Book Day; National Storytelling Week

and National Libraries Day.

From Emily Bronte to Dylan Thomas, the interactive map, beautifully designed, features some of the most well-known entries in the globally popular canon that is English literature. Users have 30 seconds to match the book to its location.

Once the quiz is completed, the full map is unlocked and turns into a useful things-to-do resource, perfect for anyone planning a literary holiday somewhere in the UK.

The deadline for entries for the prize draw is February 14th - perfect for a Valentine’s Day treat.
