Everyone is warmly welcome to the services this coming Sunday in Carrongrange School at 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Grace Kids, for children of primary school age, meet during the morning service. Generate, for secondary school kids, meets during the morning service this Sunday at 10.30 a.m. The Prayer Meeting will be held in the Dawson Mission on Thursday at 7.45 p.m. Next meetings of Connect Groups will be during week commencing September 22.
Stenhouse & Carron
The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Bill Denholm. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome. The Guild meet in the hall on Monday evening at 7.30 p.m. when Pauline McAusland will speak on the Guild Project ‘Heart for Art’. Anyone interested in coming along to the meeting will be made most welcome.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday at both services at 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Dr Campbell Campbell-Jack who continues to provide pastoral care. Elders meet for pre-service meditation in the lesser hall at 10 a.m., there will be creche and Sunday Club facilities for all children with refreshments and a time of fellowship in the hall after the service. All welcome. After each service there is a retiring offering in favour of Prospects. On Monday there is an afternoon service of Holy Communion, particularly, but not exclusively, for less mobile members. Tryst Community Church will meet in Tryst Community Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir on Sunday, September 14 at 10 a.m. for Worship and Bible Teaching. The teaching will consider The Message of Habakkuk and will be led by Brian Liddle. This service will be followed by tea/coffee. We will also meet in the Centre on Tuesday, September 16 at 7.30 p.m. for Prayer Time. You will be made very welcome at any of these services. Zumba with Carol continues at the Dobbie Hall on Thursdays, 7-8 p.m. and Sundays, 6-7 p.m. Also at Carrongrange School on Tuesdays, 7-8 p.m. Zumba Gold for active older participants at the Dobbie Hall on Thursdays, 11-11.45 a.m.
On Sunday, the morning service is at 10.30 a.m. led by Rev. Melville Crosthwaite assisted by several members of the Kirk Session. The Young Church meet in the halls before the service and crèche is held in the Session Room. Tea/coffee will be served in the hall afterwards and the Traidcraft Stall will also be there. The Banner Group resumes on Monday at 2.30 p.m. in the Session Room. All welcome. On Tuesday the Prayer Group meet in the Session Room at 6.30 p.m. and the Women’s Group meet in the large hall at 7.30 p.m. when we will have a talk on Fire Safety. A sale of children’s clothes is held in the Upper Room on a Thursday morning from 9.30-10.45 a.m. Enter through the church hall back door. Weekday Worship is held in the church on a Thursday morning at 11.15 a.m. This is a short service and you will be made very welcome.
The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. till noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.
A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. The club is available for hire to accommodate birthday parties, weddings etc and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.
Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The Playgroup is for children of two years, six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday through to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos Club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.
The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday from 8.15-9 p.m.
Toddlers, Tots and Twos meet at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue continues every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. Lively walks in Larbert are full of friendly faces, who enjoy the scenery on serveral different routes around this area. Every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower walk (average 30 minutes) both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute (average) walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk. Vale of Carron Rotary Club president Jill Dewar welcomed members to the first business meeting of the new Rotary Year, held in the Plough Hotel, Stenhousemuir. Following fellowship and a tasty meal the president led us through the items, principally a follow up to the Vale of Carron Beer Tent at the Airth Highland Games and initial planning for the Santa Sleigh. Saturday saw Rotary Café up and running again serving scones and cakes to visitors at the Tryst Craft Fair in the Dobbie Hall. Many tempting items and friendly stall holders made it a fine place for a browse and blether. The next fair is on October 11.
