The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. till noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.
A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. The group also meets in Grahamston United Church, Falkirk, on Monday evenings at the same time. For a local contact number call 0141 339 8884.
Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The club is available for hire to accommodate Birthday parties, Weddings etc. and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.
Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday through to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.
The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday between 8.15-9 p.m. The group would be happy to welcome new members.
Toddlers, Tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue continues every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. Cabaret continues tomorrow (Friday) when the much acclaimed Legends Show goes ahead. Entry is £6 and those wishing to attend can book by leaving their names at the bar. The club would be happy to accommodate new members and information is available at the bar. Meanwhile, cash bingo goes ahead every Monday at 7.30 p.m. in the club’s Pretoria Road premises.
Stenhousemuir Bowling Club celebrates its Centenary next year and is currently fund raising to give the Church Street premises a complete makeover before the event. To this end a bumper prize bingo goes ahead in the clubhouse on Wednesday, November 26, 7 p.m. for 7.30 p.m. Tickets, priced £1 are available from the bar and players should take along a cup.
The recent Coffee Morning held in the Plough Hotel proved another great success and the group wishes to thank all who supported the event. Margaret Tooth gave a comprehensive report on the work of Blythswood Christian Care and after expenses for the event were deducted, the charity received a donation of the remaining £110. The group also thanks Ruby’s Cards who contributed £80 to that total. Next meeting is on Saturday, February 7, next year when it’s hoped to share the skills of local churches with the local community. More information nearer the event.
Cabaret continues at Stenhousemuir Bowling Club this Saturday, October 25, when the fabulous China Blue entertains. The three piece group takes the stage around 9 p.m. following the bingo and David Taylor will fill in the spaces with his disco. Entry is £6 and ticket enquiries can be made at the bar in Church Street.
The service on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. will be conducted by members of the Kirk Session.Creche and Sunday Club facilities for all children. Refreshments and fellowship in the hall after the service. This is a live concert by the group Royal Foundlings.

Larbert & Stenhousemuir Probus Club heard from Margaret McLeish at Larbet Bowling Club on October 14. She was one of the 15,000 ‘Clyde-siders’, or volunteers, who ensured the success of the Commonwealth Games during the summer. Introduced by new President, Tom Meikle, she outlined the months of preparation, interviews, training and bonding that preceded the Games themselves. Her emphasis was on the personal legacy she has inherited from new friends, new experiences, improved confidence, opportunities to meet a variety of teams, happy memories and a new personal fitness. In thanking her, following a volley of questions, Tom Meikle reminded members of the next meeting on October 28 when Ian Scott will talk on the Falkirk Steeple in its 200th anniversary year.

Lively walks in Larbert are full of friendly faces, who enjoy the scenery on serveral different routes around this area. Every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. we leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower walk (average 30 minutes) both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute (average) walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk.
