President Jean Geddes of the Rotary Club of Vale of Carron welcomed members and guests District 1020 Assistant Governor Ken Robertson, Lisa Treanor and her colleague to a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Larbert in the Plough Hotel, Stenhousemuir. After a tasty meal and some brief business Rotarian Colin Mather introduced Lisa from Home Energy Scotland which offers clear and impartial advice on ways to save energy and money. Lisa said she could only give a brief overview of a huge subject in the time available but more details are available online at www.HomeEnergyScotland.org or by phoning 0808 808 2282. Some of Lisa’s tips to save energy were as simple as not overfilling the kettle and draught proofing windows while others involved some level of investment such as renewable technologies and efficient boilers. Rotarian Don Murray gave a warm vote of thanks on behalf of both clubs and President Martin Nicol of Larbert Rotary thanked President Jean for her hospitality. Anyone interested in joining Rotary or learning more about us contact Don on (01324) 553039 or visit the club website. Please also follow us on Twitter @ValeofCarron and on Facebook.
