Zumba Gold

Zumba with Carol continues at the Dobbie Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7-8 p.m. Zumba Gold with Carol at the Dobbie Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11-11.45 a.m. This class is suitable for beginners to exercise, active older participants or those seeking a slower paced lower impact zumba class. Probus Club

Members of Larbert and Stenhousemuir Probus Club were saddened to learn of the death of last year’s president Tom Meikle on June 16 after a spell in hospital. Larbert West Church, where Tom was an elder of long standing, was the venue for his funeral service on June 23 and was attended by fiends, church and Probus colleagues.

Community Council

Larbert, Stenhousemuir & Torwood Community Council will meet on Monday, June 29 at 7.15 p.m. in the halls of Larbert Old Church. There will be a presentation from Falkirk Council in relation to the proposals for their new headquarters in Falkirk. All are welcome to attend the meeting & to raise any matters. Grace Church

Services on Sunday in Carrongrange School are at 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. This week’s prayer meeting will be on Thursday at 7.45 p.m. in the Dawson Mission. All are very welcome to each of these services. Prayer breakfast is at the manse on Saturday from 9 a.m. All welcome. Holiday Club will be held from Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 7 in Carrongrange School with the annual family fun night on August 5.

Lodge Carron

The Lodge conferred the Mark master mason degree on one candidate at Lodge Corkerhill 1426 on June 19. RWM Stuart Stirling led a large deputation into Lodge Corkerhill and all were warmly received by the brethren of the Lodge. The ritual was to a high standard and was followed by an excellent harmony.

Over 50s

The Over 50s Forum is a great way to find out what is happening in your area and talk about any issues or concerns you have. Our next meeting is in the community room at Asda Stenhousemuir on Tuesday, June 30 at 10.30 a.m. to noon with a presentation on dementia. All welcome to this free group with tes/coffee and good conversation provided.

Larbert Old

A warm invitation to the service in Larbert Old Church on Sunday, June 28 led be Rev. John Brown. Creche and Children’s Activities will be provided. The Congregational Board will meet on Tuesday, June 30 at 7 p.m. in the Rennie Lounge. Tryst Church

Tryst Community Church will meet in the Tryst Community Education Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir on Sunday at 10 a.m. for worship and Bible teaching, followed by tea/coffee. The Bible Teaching will conclude the series from Revelation focusing on the letter ‘To the Church in Laodicea’ and will be led by Brian Liddle. You will be made most welcome at this Service. The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome.

West Church

The service on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. will be conducted by Rev. Dr Campbell Campbell-Jack.Creche and Sunday Club facilities for all children. Refreshments and fellowship in the hall after the service. Car Boot

The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. till noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.

Al Anon

A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. North Broomage

Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. The club is available for hire to accommodate birthday parties, weddings etc. and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.

Larbert East

Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.

Badminton Club

The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday between 8.15-9 p.m.

Toddler Group

Toddlers, Tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. Aerobic Class

Ochilview Bar

The old Warriors Club has resumed Friday night bingo sessions and eyes-down is at 8 p.m. prompt. Meanwhile, every Sunday at 3 p.m. a domino competition goes ahead when the winner takes home a steak pie and runner-up a quarter bottle of spirits. Entry is £1 and monies raised go to charity. Tonight, Thursday, the quiz goes on as usual in the lounge 8 p.m. Entry is £1 and winning team takes all. The Play Your Cards Right game also features on the same evening.

Barbershop Singing

Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) where new members will be made most welcome. Larbert Bowling

A dance/cabaret has been arranged for Saturday, July 11, at 8.30 p.m. when popular duo, Heartbreaker, provides the entertainment. Tickets, priced £6, can be booked at the bar where details of the event can also be obtained. Meanwhile, the club would be happy to accommodate new members and information is available from members or at the clubrooms. Cash bingo goes ahead every Monday at 7.30 p.m. in the club’s Pretoria Road premises.

Walking Football

Stenhousemuir F.C. Community Development Director, Jamie Kirk, would be delighted to hear from anyone over 50 wishing to enjoy a new initiative at the club. A new session of Walking Football has started and places are available at Ochilview on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Given running with the ball is out of bounds it is ideal for those who feel they would benefit from a gentler form of the game as well as enjoying the social aspect. Stenhousemuir Bowling

Currently celebrating its 150th season when all games will be played at home, the club would be delighted to welcome new members at the Church Street green. Forms are available at the bar and the entry fee has been reduced to half price at the present time.

On Sunday, the service is at 10.30 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Melville Crosthwaite. The Summer Sunday Club meet in the Small Hall before the service. Crèche is held in the Session Room. Tea/coffee is served in the hall after the service and the Traidcraft Stall will also be available.

Braveheart Walks

Lively walks in Larbert every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower 30 minute walk both finishing in the cafe afterwards. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk.
