The meetings this week are: Cornerstone Full Gospel Church Sunday from 10.30am to noon led by Pastor Alex Paton. From 2.30-3.30pm the Salvation Army Worship service will be lead by Major John McCaffrey. Monday Home League from 1.55-3pm led by Home League Secretary Margaret Ross. Tuesday 10-11am is Headway Falkirk’s Memory Group. If you have an acquired or traumatic brain injury amd need help, please call 07400 449433 and speak with Stuart. Craft Group for Headway is from 1.30-3.30pm each Wednesday. Joint prayer meeting is every Wednesday from 7-8pm. Coffee Morning eaach Friday from 10am to 12.30pm.
The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30am to noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.
A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8pm. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturdays at 7pm. The club is available for hire to accommodate Birthday parties, Weddings etc. and further information is available by calling the club after 6pm on (01324) 552685.
Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11am. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11am and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11am. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.
The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday from 8.15-9pm. The group would be happy to welcome new members.
Toddlers, Tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. The old Warriors Club has resumed Friday night bingo sessions and eyes-down is at 8pm. prompt. Meanwhile, every Sunday at 3pm a domino competition goes ahead when the winner takes home a steak pie and runner-up a quarter bottle of spirits. Entry is £1 and monies raised go to charity. Tonight, Thursday, the quiz goes on as usual in the lounge 8pm. Entry is £1 and winning team takes all. The Play Your Cards Right game also features on the same evening.
Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30pm in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. A dance/cabaret has been arranged for this Saturday at 8.30pm when popular duo, Heartbreaker, provides the entertainment. Tickets, priced £6, can be booked at the bar where details of the event can also be obtained. Cash bingo goes ahead every Monday at 7.30pm. in the club’s Pretoria Road premises.
Stenhousemuir F.C. Community Development Director, Jamie Kirk, would be delighted to hear from anyone over 50 wishing to enjoy a new initiative at the club. A new session of Walking Football has started and places are available at Ochilview on Wednesdays at 6pm. Given running with the ball is out of bounds it is ideal for those who feel they would benefit from a gentler form of the game as well as enjoying the social aspect. Currently celebrating its 150th season when all games will be played at home, the club would be delighted to welcome new members at the Church Street green. Forms are available at the bar and the entry fee has been reduced to half price at the present time.
After an absence of some years Stenhousemuir F.C. have brought back the popular Family Day and it goes ahead this Sunday, July 12, at Ochilview Park from 1-5pm. The event features something for all the family and entry is free. ‘River City’ star and wrestler Grado will perform and as well as a football tournament there will be a dog display, bouncy castles, bungee run and bucking bronco. There will be displays from the Army, Fire Brigade, Gymnastics Display and visitors can enjoy the beer tent, numerous stalls, hot and cold food outlets and much more.

Tryst Community Church meets in the Tryst Community Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir, on Sunday at 10am for Worship and Bible teaching. A new series of Bible Teaching starts this week and Peter Henderson will lead a study on ‘The Character of Christ’. This service will be followed by tea/coffee. The service on Sunday is at 11.15am and will be led by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome.
On Sunday, the morning service at 10.30am. will be led by Rev. Melville Crosthwaite. The Summer Sunday Club meet in the Small Hall before the service and crèche is held in the Session Room. Tea/coffee will be available in the hall after the service and the Traidcraft Stall will also be there. Please join us in worship.
Services this coming Sunday in Carrongrange School are at 10.30am and at 6pm. This week’s prayer meeting will be on Thursday at 7.45pm in the Dawson Mission. All are very welcome to these services. Holiday Club will be held from August 3-7 in Carrongrange School with the annual family fun night on Wednesday, August 5.
