Tryst Community Church’s Holiday Club for P1-P7 children continues today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) from 1-3 p.m, concluding with a prizegiving on Friday at 7.30 p.m. We will meet as usual in Tryst Community Education Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir on Sunday, July 13 at 10 a.m. for worship and Bible teaching with tea/coffee at the end of the service. The service on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. will be conducted by Rev. Campbell Campbell-Jack. Creche and Sunday Club facilities are available for all children. Refreshments are available in the hall after the service. The Prayer Group meets in the lesser hall on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Pastoral care will continue to be provided by Rev. The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. till noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.
A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. The club is available for hire to accommodate birthday parties, weddings etc and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.
Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years, six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.
The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday from 8.15-9 p.m.
Toddler, Tots and Twos meet at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue continues every Thursday. The facility is for 0 to three-year-olds and has a dedicated baby corner. Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. Cash bingo goes ahead every Monday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert Bowling Club’s Pretoria Road premises.
The ladies’ section at Burnhead Bowling Club has come up with a unique fundraising event and it’s hoped the local community will respond. On Saturday, July 12, a Cocktail/Tea Party will be held at the Queens Drive premises from 2 p.m. till late. Cocktail dresses and bow ties would lend a bit of glamour to the event, but are not compulsory. Admission is £5 and includes a buffet, raffle and disco. Tickets or further information is available at the bar and all are welcome.
The above group wishes to offer grateful thanks to all who attended the recent coffee morning in the Plough Hotel. An enjoyable time was spent in informal chat and a most interesting and informative talk on Falkirk Foodbank given. The group sincerely thank Dorothy, Ann, Vivian and Jill and Debbie from the hotel. After expenses, £24 was donated to the Fooodbank, as was bags of provisions and the organisers also thank all their faithful supporters for the donations. The group next meets at the Plough on Saturday, October 4, when they will hear about the work of Blythswood.
The 62nd Larbert Scout Group gives advance notice of the annual Grand Jumble Sale that takes place on Saturday, August 16, in Larbert Old Church Hall. The members are always very grateful for donations of clothes, toys, books, bric-a-brac etc for the sale and will be issuing details of collection arrangements to householders in the area early next month.

Headway Falkirk is seeking a volunteer driver. The group, which operates from Stenhousemuir Salvation Army Church would welcome a volunteer driver to help with planning summer trips in the coming months. Any help would be

Our lively walks in Larbert are full of friendly faces, who enjoy the scenery on serveral different routes around this area. Every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m., we leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower walk (average 30 minutes) both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute (average) walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk.
