Vine Trust

The first fundraising event for the Vine Trust trip to Tanzania in September was a coffee morning, on February 21. It was a great success, raising £429 towards the building fund. The more money raised the more materials the group can buy to help build more houses in Tanzania.

Metafit Classes

Metafit on Monday at 8 p.m. in the Dobbie Hall and Saturday at 10.15 a.m. in Stenhousemuir Sports Centre. For more information call 07739718361.

Stenhouse & Carron

The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome. Light refreshments will be available in the hall after the service. The Wednesday Welcome awaits you in the hall at 10 a.m. All are welcome to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the minister’s thought for the day.

Lodge Carron

The Lodge conferred the fellowcraft degree on February 25. After the degree IPM William Campbell was presented with a PM Apron, sash and case as a token of esteem from the brethren of the Lodge for his tenure as RWM. Brother Campbell, being the epitome of a freemason, was humbled at the gift. The next meeting is on Wednesday, March 11 at 7.30 p.m. when the Lodge will confer the Master mason degree.

Car Boot

The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. until noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.

Al Anon

A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. North Broomage

The club is available for hire to accommodate birthday parties, weddings etc. and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.

Larbert East

Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11.a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11.a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.

Badminton Club

The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday between 8.15-9 p.m.

Toddler Group

Toddlers tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. Aerobics Class

Ochilview Bar

Every Sunday at 3 p.m. a domino competition goes ahead when the winner takes home a steak pie and runner-up a quarter bottle of spirits. Entry is £1 and monies raised go to charity. Tonight, Thursday, the quiz goes on as usual in the lounge at 8 p.m. Entry is £1 and winning team takes all. The Play Your Cards Right game also features on the same evening.

Barbershop Singing

Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. Buddhism Meeting

Practitioners of Nichiren Bhuddism meet once a month in the Rotary Hall, Larbert – next to the Dobbie – and anyone with an interest is welcome to attend. Further information is available on website

Larbert Bowling

The club hosts a dance on Friday, February 27, from 8 p.m. until midnight when keyboard player and vocalist Carol Mack will entertain. Entry is £5 and tickets are currently available from the bar. Meanwhile, the club would be happy to accommodate new members and information is available at the bar. Cash bingo goes ahead every Monday at 7.30 p.m. in the club’s Pretoria Road premises.

Walking Football

Stenhousemuir F.C. Community Development Director, Jamie Kirk, would be delighted to hear from anyone over 50 wishing to enjoy a new initiative at the club. Walking Football goes ahead at Ochilview every Monday morning at 10.a.m. and given running with the ball is out of bounds it is ideal for those who feel they would benefit from a gentler form of the game as well as enjoying the social aspect. Cabaret Night

Stenhousemuir Bowling Club continues the cabaret season on Saturday when club favourite Robert T Leonard returns to the venue. Robert takes the stage around 9 p.m. following the bingo and David Taylor fill the gaps with his disco. All tickets for the show have already gone, but those unlucky on this occasion should note that similar events go ahead on the last Saturday of every month. Meanwhile, currently celebrating its 150th birthday, the club would be delighted to welcome new members at the Church Street green and forms are available at the bar. The entry fee has been reduced to half price at the current time.

Larbert West

The service on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. will be conducted by Rev. Dr Campbell Campbell-Jack. Creche and Sunday Club facilities for all children. Fellowship and refreshments in the hall after the service. Tryst Church

Tryst Community Church will meet in Tryst Community Education Centre, Park Drive, Stenhousemuir, on Sunday at 10 a.m. for a Communion Service. This will be led by Peter Henderson and will be followed by tea/coffee. Prayer Time on Tuesday will be at 8.30 p.m. in the centre. Services this Sunday in Carrongrange School are at 10.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sacrament of Holy Communion observed at 6 p.m. Grace Kids also meet at 10.30 a.m. The weekly Prayer Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 7.45 p.m. in the Dawson Mission.

Old Playgroup

Larbert Old Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children from 2 years and upwards and runs on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.30-11.25 a.m. in Larbert Old Parish Church (Larbert Cross). Larbert East

On Communion Sunday, the morning service is at 10.30 a.m. led by Rev. Melville Crosthwaite and Ms Anne White, OLM student in training. The Young Church will meet in the halls before the service and a crèche is held in the Session Room. Tea/coffee will be served in the hall after the service and the Traidcraft Stall will also be there. Afternoon Communion is at 2.30 p.m. There will be time for tea and a chat afterwards. The retiring offering after both services is for MacMillan Nurses. On Monday, the Banner and Craft Group meet in the session room at 2.30 p.m. On Tuesday, the Prayer Group meet in the session room at 6.30 p.m. and the Women’s Group meet in the large hall at 7.30 p.m. for the AGM. A sale of children’s clothes is held in the upper room on a Thursday morning from 9.15-10.45 a.m. and weekday worship is held in the Church at 11.15 a.m. This is a short service and everyone is welcome.

Pentecostal Church

On Sunday, the morning service will commence at 11.15 a.m. in Larbert High School and the speaker will be Pastor Sandy Jamieson. Teas and coffees will be available from 10.30-11 a.m. and crèche and children’s church are available during the service. The evening service will commence at 6.15 p.m. in the church on Broomage Avenue and the speaker will again be Pastor Sandy Jamieson.

Larbert Old

Cornerstone Full Gospel Church meet on Sunday from 10.30 a.m. to noon run by Pastor Alex Paton. On Sunday from 2.30-3.30 p.m. is Salvation Army Worship led by Major John McCaffrey. Bleakley, one of the Falkirk Street Pastors. The club next meets on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and, out of sequence with the published programme, will learn of the research by Ronnie Cheape and Ronnie Laing into WW1 graves.

Braveheart Walks

Lively walks in Larbert take place every Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. leave from FVRH, where there is a choice of an hour walk, or a slower 30 minute walk both finishing in the cafe afterwords. Also a Friday 10.30 a.m. walk, leaving from Stenhousemuir shopping centre, again you can join a slower 30 minute walk or brisker one hour walk, where you can meet everyone in the cafe after your walk.
