This year’s spring fair will be held in Larbert’s Dobbie Hall on Saturday, April 25 with free admission from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The fair will have an array of good quality hand made crafts including sweets, jewelley, cards, fused glass, hair accessories, novelty children’s hats and others. There will be a children’s craft corner and the chance to take a break at the tea/coffee bar run by the team from Vale of Carron Rotary Club.
The Dobbie Hall car boot sale takes place every Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. until noon and pitches cost £6 for one and £9 for two. Tables are available for anyone wishing to make some money from unwanted items and all money raised benefits the Hall Trust. For hall and pitch bookings call (01324) 570450.
A meeting of the above takes place every Friday in Larbert Old Church Hall at 8 p.m. The meetings allow people to share experiences and gain advice on coping with family members suffering from alcoholism. Bingo continues on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The club is available for hire to accommodate birthday parties, weddings etc. and further information is available by calling the club after 6 p.m. on (01324) 552685.
Larbert East Playgroup has vacancies for new members. The playgroup is for children of two years six months and upwards and runs on Tuesday to Friday at Larbert East Church from 9.20-11 a.m. There is also a Monday Twos club from 9.30-11 a.m. and a Toddlers Group goes ahead on a Wednesday from 9.30-11 a.m. Anyone interested in joining any of these groups will be welcomed at the church at the above times.
The club meets in the games hall at Larbert High School every Monday between 8.15-9 p.m.
Toddlers Tots and Twos meets at Larbert Pentecostal Church in Broomage Avenue every Thursday. The facility is for 0-3 year olds and has a dedicated baby corner. It runs on Thursdays between 9.30-11 a.m. A warm welcome awaits and for further information call Alison on 07983 534424.

Every Sunday at 3 p.m. a domino competition goes ahead when the winner takes home a steak pie and runner-up a quarter bottle of spirits. Entry is £1 and monies raised go to charity. Tonight, Thursday, the quiz goes on as usual in the lounge 8 p.m. Entry is £1 and winning team takes all. The Play Your Cards Right game also features on the same evening.
Sweet Harmony Barbershop Chorus meets for practice every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in Larbert East Church Hall (Kirk Wynd) when new members will be made most welcome. Stenhousemuir F.C. Community Development Director, Jamie Kirk, would be delighted to hear from anyone over 50 wishing to enjoy a new initiative at the club. Walking Football goes ahead at Ochilview every Monday morning at 10 a.m. and given running with the ball is out of bounds it is ideal for those who feel they would benefit from a gentler form of the game. President Tom Honeyman rolled the first bowl last week to open the club’s 15th season last Saturday. Members and guests enjoyed an excellent celebration and look forward to June when Falkirk Council recognises the historical landmark with a civic reception at the premises. Meanwhile, the club would be delighted to welcome new members at the Church Street green and forms are available at the bar. The entry fee has been reduced to half price at the present time. Tickets, priced £6, are sure to be at a premium when 1960’s Showband, Heartbeat visits the club. The popular musicians supple what it says on the tine and appear on stage around 9 p.m. after the bingo. David Taylor fills the spaces with his disco and further information is available at the bar.

The service on Sunday is at 11.15 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Bill Thomson. The Young Church (Sunday School) meet during the service and new members are always welcome. The popular Wednesday Welcome awaits you in the hall on Wednesday at 10 a.m. All are welcome to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the minister’s thought for the day.
The Saturday Group meet this week at noon in The Plough Hotel. If you are lonely or needing a chat with someone please join us for a light lunch or coffee without formality. Tryst Community Church are celebrating their fifth anniversary this Sunday. There will be a worship time and Bible Teaching by guest speaker Jim Aitcheson. The Lodge had back to back meetings last week. Having conferred the fellow craft degree at Lodge Carron on April 8 the Lodge went on tour to Lodge Barns O’ Clyde 1018 on April 9 where a fine deputation led by IPM William Campbell conferred the fellow craft degree on one candidate. This was followed by an excellent harmony. The Lodge has a GCM on Monday, April 20 at 7.30 p.m.

Services this coming Sunday in Carrongrange School are at 10.30 a.m. and at 6 p.m. when Nigel Kenny of the Christian Institute will preach. This will be followed by a presentation of the work of the Institute. Holiday Grace Kids meet at 10.30 a.m. The weekly prayer meeting will be held this Thursday at 7.45 p.m. in the Dawson Mission.
