Student Danielle Lynch has an exciting year ahead – graduating from university and taking part in the international finals of a top beauty pageant.
After being crowned Miss Intercontinental Scotland, the Larbert lovely can now look forward to a year of travel and personal appearances.
But Danielle (23) said she also intends to concentrate on her studies, as well as raising cash for charity.
She travelled to the Palace Hotel, Manchester, to represent Stirlingshire in the UK finals and admits to being stunned when her name was announced as Scottish winner.
It followed four rounds of judging: evening wear, swimwear, fashion wear and an interview, when Danielle was able to show that she was more than a pretty face, impressing the judges with her bubbly personality.
She said: “I was very surprised when the result was announced.
“I’d travelled down to Manchester with my mum, Fiona, and she was a great support. She was cheering me on but her face was a picture when they called out my name.”
Now Danielle is waiting to hear where the international final will take place, with previous events in Germany and the Seychelles.
However, first she has to graduate from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh with a BSc(Hons) in Psychology before starting her Masters in human resource management at Glasgow Caledonian University.
She also works as a part-time model and administrator for a fashion website.
During her reign, she also hopes to collect money for Alzheimers Scotland having previously held a charity event, raising £1000 for the charity.
Danielle, who last year was a finalist in Miss Scotland, added: “I previously worked at Caledonian Court care home in Larbert and saw first-hand how devastating the condition can be for sufferers and their families. I’d like to be able to do something to help.”
