Larbert High seeks oldest pupil

To celebrate 130 years of
educating, a high school is looking for the oldest former pupil.

Larbert High School hopes to not only find the oldest living student, but also former pupils from each decade to share their stories of attending.

Larbert Central School was formed in 1885 and eventually became Larbert High School. Originally situated on Stenhousemuir Main Street, the school spread to land at Carrongrange and is now in a modern new building.

To mark the milestone, the school captains have created a challenge to carry out 130 services for the community in the school year. The celebration will culminate in a party for current and former pupils and they hope to hear from all generations as well as the oldest pupil.

Rector Jon Reid said: “We want to celebrate education in the area and hear from all backgrounds and experiences. It seems fitting to honour 130 years by hearing how education was provided in the past.”
