Plans for Kincardine Children’s Gala Day are progressing well, according to organisers.

With just a day to go until the event on Saturday, excitement is starting to build.

The procession is due to leave the village green at 12.15 p.m. and the parade will follow.

Then at 1 p.m., the 2012 Kincardine Queen elect, Rachel Snaddon, will be crowned at Burnside Park.

Craig Russell, gala secretary said: “The plans are going well, so now we are just keeping our fingers crossed for some good weather.

“We really hope that the whole community turns out and has a good day.”

Entertainment for the afternoon includes music from pipe bands and the Boys Brigade, puppet shows, Highland dancers, magicians, a climbing wall and show rides.

This year’s Kincardine court are: Queen - Rachel Snaddon, Herald - Sam Russell, Lady-in-waiting - Solveig Allan, Lady-in-waiting - Lucy Reid, Lady-in-waiting - Kareen Lattka, Lady-in-waiting - Kayleigh Brogan, Page boy - Callan Horne, Page boy - Aaron Brandon-Kyle, Flower girl - Hannah Graham, Flower girl - Keira Leggat, Gracious lady who crowns the queen - Mrs Beatrice McLaren, and Escort to Gracious lady - Mr Robet Millar.
