Local children can be the switch-flicking, sleigh-riding stars of this year’s big Christmas lights ceremonies in the Falkirk area.
Once again Falkirk, Grangemouth and Stenhousemuir will help Santa find his way to youngsters’ homes by lighting up their respective town centres as brightly as possible in the run up to the big day.
Grangemouth’s switch on event takes place first on Saturday, November 21, and features entertainment and activities running from 10am, with the lights going on at 5pm.
This is quickly followed by Falkirk’s Frozen-themed ceremony on Sunday, November 22, and Stenhousemuir’s event on Saturday, November 28.
The lucky winner will receive the honour of throwing the switch at Falkirk town centre alongside Provost Pat Reid and Elsa from Frozen and get a special present from Santa himself. Runners up get to ride in Santa’s sleigh.
To win answer the following: What is the name of the snowman in Frozen?
Send your answer, along with the name and age of your child, address and contact telephone number, to the Christmas Lights Competition, The Falkirk Herald, 4A Gateway Business Park, Beancross Road, Grangemouth FK3 8WX.
Switch on entrants must be Primary School pupils, but youngsters aged eight and under are eligible to win a ride on Santa’s sleigh.
Closing date is November 6.
