Dozens of businesses, shops and organisations, including Falkirk Football Club and Forth Valley College, are collecting cash to promote World Kidney Day on March 10.

Industrial suppliers Scott Direct in Grangemouth held its money-spinner last week and will be sending its cheque on shortly, while a collection by Falkirk Council staff will add over £450 to the final total.

Workers at the Asda CDC4 depot have chipped in, and shops, including Marshalls Bakers, Smyths, Next, Haven, BHS, Costa Coffee and Torwood Garden Centre, also plan to encourage shoppers to make a donation.

Before last Saturday’s match with Alloa at Falkirk Stadium the team sported official Kidney Kids Scotland t-shirts during the warm-up and one will be signed by the squad to auction on-line. Kidney Kids Scotland volunteers also collected donations from generous fans before the kick-off.
