Kelpies support Poppy Appeal

The Kelpies have been turned red in the run up to Remembrance Sunday.

The iconic sculptures in Falkirk’s Helix Park will be lit red every evening to mark Poppyscotland’s annual appeal.

This year, five million poppies will be produced and distributed with 60,000 collections tins around the country.

The collection will be overseen by 460 volunteer Scottish Poppy Appeal area organisers and an army of 10,000 volunteer collectors.

Last year, the charity provided financial help to individuals and organisations which offer specialist support to the Armed Forces community.

The Scottish Poppy Appeal, which has been running for 95 years, is Scotland’s largest street collection.
