From tap to ballet and jazz, the young pupils at Central Scotland Ballet School know there are many different styles of dancing.
And they can find out even more about it with this week’s volume of Disney’s ‘Wonderful World of Knowledge’, which is this week focusing on the dramatic arts.
The colourful encyclopedias teach children about subjects as varied as sports, plants and science and ‘Dance, Drama and Music’ is part 18 of the 24-part series.
The children’s teacher, Amanda Clark, said she thought it was great that the children would learn more about the background to dance.
She said: “Dance is so good for them - it is a great way for children to stay fit and healthy in a fun way.”
Of her young students in the junior jazz class, held in Maddiston Community Centre every week, she said: “They really enjoy the music - they love dancing to the latest chart hits!”
Each volume is beautifully illustrated, combining artists’ drawings and photographs and in this issue all your favourite Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Pluto, will guide you on your journey.
This takes in everything from orchestras to pop music and the plays of Ancient Greece to modern stagecraft.
