Falkirk High Street takes a futuristic leap into the fantasy world of hit movies today, in a fundraising crowd-puller to benefit Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
The Howgate Centre has teamed up with CHAS and Falkirk Delivers to bring “Capital Sci-Fi Con - Falkirk Invasion” to the town centre - and with it some stunning sights from the world of film.
The DeLorean supercar (pictured) from Back to the Future (pictured), Lightning McQueen and the Walking Dead bike will all be on display at the Steeple.
At least 20 traders selling related merchandise, and face painters, will also be livening up the High Street (opposite the Geek Gear Shop).
Shoppers can simply walk about the town centre and enjoy the atmosphere or purchase a wristband on the day for £5 to have photos with the displays or take part in the games.
The registration desk will be next to Costa Coffee, and family will be on sale for £15 (children under five go free).
The event is run by superhero fundraiser Keith Armour and his team of cos-players.
Laura Campbell, community fundraiser for CHAS, said: “Keith and his incredible team of supporters have now raised over £187,000 in three years.
“At CHAS, we want to make sure that wherever there’s a child in Scotland with a life shortening condition, we’re on hand to support their entire family”.
