The Falkirk Herald has launched its annual hunt for the area’s most photogenic children.
For the Cute Kids 2014 competition we are inviting mums, dads or other carers to bring their beautiful bairns along to a free photo session at the Howgate later this month.
They will be automatically entered into the Cute Kids competition. The winners in three age categories will receive fabulous prizes - a £100 gift card courtesy of the Howgate shopping centre, a voucher from The Falkirk Herald, £30 to spend in Piccolina children’s clothes shop in Wooer Street and a print of the winning image.
The competition is free and open to children aged up to five. Simply take your child along to the Howgate between August 21-24 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Their portrait will be taken by a professional studio photographer and the best image from the day will be entered in Cute Kids 2014 in either 0-1, 1-2 or 2-5 age category. The pictures will be printed in a special Falkirk Herald supplement ... and the voting will begin.
The entrants will be whittled down to a top 20, then to a top 10 until finally the winner of Cute Kids 2014 is decided.
Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume said: “We are excited to be launching Cute Kids 2014. Last year the contest was very popular and closely fought but Callan McKinnon was a very worthy winner.”
Callan, from Redding, was 11 months old when he was crowned winner of Cute Kids 2014, beating off competition from 200 other youngsters.
He was entered on a whim by mum Heather when she spotted the photographers in the Howgate and was delighted when he was chosen as the winner.
Speaking at the time she said: “I had been keeping my fingers crossed that he would win and I’m really proud and delighted that he did.”
If you would like to enter your child into the Falkirk Herald Cute Kids 2014 competition, take them to one of the photo sessions running August 21-24 and automatic entry into the contest.
