Stephanie Inglis (27), who has taught classes in the Falkirk area, has been in the country teaching English for the last four months. The Commonwealth Games silver medallist was involved in a motorcycle accident last Tuesday.

She previously worked for Sportif Judo, teaching children’s classes in Linlithgow and in other locations, and now parents of students are involved in a campaign to help get her home.

Local mum Ailsa Mackay said: “Many of the children here in Linlithgow and elsewhere had the opportunity to train with Steph and watch her compete at the Commonwealth Games.

“We are frantically fundraising to help with medical costs and, in particular, raise the considerable funds required to bring her home.”

The appeal has currently raised £164,847 and people can visit www.gofundme.com/23yq67t4 to help.
