It can sometimes be difficult for a new mum to find social outlets. But there are plenty local groups that can help mothers and their babies get out and about.
The Helix Buggy Group (aka the Helix Hotties) is one which gives mums a chance to spend some quality time with their little ones while mixing with other mothers for a chat and a healthy walk around Falkirk’s latest attraction – Helix Park and the Kelpies.
Barbara McConnell of Falkirk Community Trust, who organises the free buggy walks in the area, said: “Walk leaders take the group around the Helix paths, usually down to see Duke and Baron, our Kelpies.
“The walk lasts about 40 minutes to an hour and afterwards the group goes back to the stadium café for refreshments and cake.
“It’s very sociable for mums who are all in the same boat to get out and about, stay fit and healthy, meet other mums and discover great places to walk and generally just have a bit of fun.”
All buggy walks are free.
