Group of the Week: Denny & District Development Group

Denny and District Development Group

Making Denny a more prosperous and happy place to live is the task of a committed and motivated band of volunteers who represent the interests of the town and surrounding area.

Denny & District Development Group (DDDG) was formed in May 2011 in response to the number of renewable energy developers’ applications and is made up of local organisations, both voluntary and private, and local residents and is supported by Falkirk Council’s Community Learning & Development Service.

Members are not for or against renewable energy projects, but feel they should be challenged if there is a detrimental effect on the community.

The group is not just about planning and gets involved in all aspects of Denny life that will benefit residents including sourcing funding for local projects, improving or developing social enterprise opportunities, improving or developing health and wellbeing, bringing local people together and encouraging active citizenship.
