Caring for stray and feral cats takes a lot of work and the Falkirk-based Cat Register & Rescue group has caring and dedicated volunteers to deal with the problem.
The group is made up of trustees who care for cats, doing vet runs and all the administration work across the central belt.
The charity has a ‘Trap/Neuter/Return’ programme for healthy adults, while those which are unable to cope outdoors such as sick, injured, old, young or mothers with kittens are taken into foster care where they receive all the necessary veterinary care. Before they are re-homed all cats are vaccinated and chipped and great care is taken to find them suitable homes.
The group relies on fundraising to exist and is in the Charity Shop at 29 Main Street, Brightons. Events also include spring and Christmas fayres, food collections and an annual photo competition.
An open day is being held on Sunday (October 19) from 2-4 p.m. in the Brightons shop for anyone who would like to get involved or donate.
