After 125 years of the Boys’ Brigade, companies are still going strong in our communities across the Falkirk district.
One of those groups giving adventure and discipline to youngsters is the 2nd Polmont Boys’ Brigade.
Every week the company, which has been running for over 100 years, meets for activities and games and to help the boys prepare for their badges which in the modern age gives them better employability prospects for later life as employers recognise the Duke of Edinburgh, President’s and Queen’s Badges.
There company is thriving with around 50 boys attending each of the three sections - Anchor (5 to 8-year-olds); Junior (8 to 11 years); Company (11 to 15 years).
Activities, games and challenges include football, bricklaying, photography, national quizzes, drills and even trips to see English Premiership football matches like the Sunderland match the company has just returned from.
The company always welcomes new members to join the camaraderie.
