The Coalfields Community Investment Programme will give awards of up to £5000 to support activities tackling some of the key challenges still remaining in coalfield communities.

The fund is open to projects that will make a difference in growing the skills of people in order to increase their opportunities, developing pathways to increase the number of people in work and supporting activities that improve health and wellbeing.

Nicky Wilson, CRT Scottish trustee, said: “Our programme will provide support to voluntary groups to develop skills, knowledge and capacity, in relation to funding.

“As well as providing free advice, information and training, our staff can help those who most need support with guidance on key activities like running locally based funding surgeries.”

The closing date for the first round of awards is May 25. Call David Wright on 01259 272127 or e-mail [email protected] for more details.
