Buskit Dinner

Buskit will hold its AGM on Thursday, September 25, at 8 p.m. in The Scotts Restaurant, Wood Street, Grangemouth. There will be an informal group dinner at 7 p.m. prior to the meeting priced at £10 per person. Everyone is welcome. Buskit Shop

Buskit will be running a shop for a week in Grangemouth Town Centre. The charity, which for the past 20 years has supported children abroad, regularly travels to Belarus to help the children still impacted by the Cherynobyl disaster. The shop will be opening on Monday, September 8 and will be closing on Saturday, September 13. The opening times of the shop will be 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. each day. Any donations gratefully accepted.

KHR Service

The service at the Kirk of the Holy Rood on Sunday will be conducted by the Minister at the usual time of 11 a.m. The Summer Walking Group are holding their Pot Luck Supper on September 9 at 7.30 p.m. The next Foodbank collection will be on Sunday. There will be a meeting of the Kirk Session at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday, September 12 there will be a Big Sing in the Kirk with guests Brightons Praise Group. This will be in aid of our Jubilee Project for Nepal and tickets are £2.50 (children free). You can also become involved by suggesting a favourite hymn to be included in the programme. Tickets and suggestion list are available in the Kirk vestibule. Falkirk Presbytery’s Got Talent will be held in Falkirk Trinity Church of Scotland on Saturday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ballroom Dancing

David and Eileen would like to invite you to an evening of sequence and ballroom dancing on Saturday in the Kirk of the Holy Rood church, Bowhouse Road, from 7.30 to 10.30 p.m. All welcome. Any queries please contact or 07973172063. Please bring your own refreshments.

Choral Society

Grangemouth Choral Society has started rehearsals for the new session, meeting in Talbot House, Talbot Street, at 7.30 p.m. Always happy to welcome new members, the society sings a wide variety of music so please come along and join. Members will be singing Faure’s Requiem on Friday, October 10. If you are familiar with that work and would like a chance to perform it please come along to rehearsals. Rainbow Church

Rainbow House Spiritualist Church invites people to its base in South Shore Road for services tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. with guest medium Elizabeth McGowen and on Sunday at 7.15 p.m. with guest Pat Kelly. Healing is available before both services from 6 to 7 p.m. Rainbow House thank those who showed their support at last weekend’s open day with Friends Of Rannoch Park.

Zetland Stitchers

Zetland Stitchers resume their meetings on Tuesday, September 9 in Zetland Church Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Anyone interested in sewing and knitting is welcome to come along.

Sunday’s service was conducted by Reverend Lorna MacDougall and Bill Black and Willie Ford, members of Gideons International, also participated in worship. Elders’ duties for Communion on Sunday, September 14 and the Special Communion on Sunday, September 21 are posted in the usual places for information and action as required. Grangemouth Community Care needs volunteers to escort clients to and from Talbot House on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You only require to be available once a month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers are also required for Wednesday Day Care 9.30 a.m. to 2.45 p.m. If you can help please contact Anne Lowe, Co-ordinator, on (01324) 471657. Morning Worship next Sunday will be at 11.15 a.m. and will be conducted by Reverend Lorna MacDougall. Sunday School meets, tea and coffee will be served after the service and there will be Vestry Hour consultation.

Zumba Classes

Zumba Gold continues every Monday and Wednesday at Newlands/Beancross Hall (just before the TA centre). Both classes run from 11.15 a.m. to noon and are suitable for beginners to exercise, active older participants or those seeking a lower pace/impact zumba class. Zumba with Carol continues at Grangemouth Town Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. All classes are on over the school holidays. E-mail for more information.

Abbotsgrange Church

The Reverend Aftab Gohar will conduct the service at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday. The Sunday School and ABC are on holiday this Sunday. Crèche facilities are available as usual and tea and coffee will be served after worship. The Harvest Thanksgiving Service will take place on Sunday, September 14 at 10.30 a.m. A New Communicants Class for anyone wishing to become a member of the Abbotsgrange family is planned for October. Walking Group

There will be no walk on Monday, September 8, as it is the September weekend. Walks leave from the Community Education Unit, Grangemouth Sports complex every Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. If you or someone you know is having problems with their balance come along to our Wednesday walk where you will be shown mobility, strength and balance exercises (Otago). Evangelical Church

On Sunday the morning service takes place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Turnbull from Larbert as speaker. The evening service welcomes Mark Surtees from Niddrie Community Church in Edinburgh at 6.30 p.m. All welcome.

Come along to the afternoon social dancing sessions in Bowhouse Community Centre on Thursdays from 1.30-3.30 p.m. All welcome.
