Rotary Club

That the sun shines on the righteous was an axiom which has delighted members of Grangemouth Rotary Club in recent days. For last Thursday, when the club’s annual golf charity day was held at Linlithgow, blue skies and a break from the cold winds hitherto favoured the 15 teams which turned out to raise more than £2400 for Cancer Research. George Nichol well merited the thanks of all concerned. And on Monday the sun was shining when the club acted as hosts to a coach-load of patrons from Talbot House who thoroughly enjoyed a trip to St Andrews, and two hours there before returning for a buffet at Talbot House. Jim Hunter, convener of the Community Service Committee, assisted by Gilbert Peddie, spearheaded the club’s endeavours. Members should note that at the close of proceedings today (Thursday) an official club photograph will be taken.

Zetland Church

Sunday’s service was conducted by Reverend John Jenkinson. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday at 11.15 a.m. and 2.45 p.m. and the services will be conducted by Reverend Alison Meikle. Sunday School and crèche meet.
