Miller Hall

On Sunday, the 11.30 a.m. Christmas service will be held in Dawson Centre, Bainsford. The 6 p.m. service will be with Mr Derek Malcolm. Bible study is on Wednesday.

United Church

The kids Sunday club meets in the Church hall at 11 a.m. Come along and make new friends while enjoying games, arts and crafts, songs and Bible stories. The Xmas Factor, a Christmas service led by the Youth Group in aid of Christian Aid, takes place on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. in the Church. Tea/Coffee will be served in the hall afterwards. All will be made most welcome. Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meet throughout the week. The Boys Brigade meet weekly on Fridays in the Church Halls, Anchor Boys (ages 5-7) from 6 to 7.15 p.m., Junior Section (ages 8-10) from 6.45 to 8.15 p.m. and Company Section (ages 11-18) from 7.45 to 10 p.m. The badminton club meets weekly in the Church hall on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. Players young and old, from novice to champion are welcome. Bowling Club

Winners of last Friday night’s Games Night were Maryhelen McDaid and Alex Anderson. Next Games Night is this Friday at 8 p.m. The Christmas Dance is on Saturday at 8.30 p.m. when John Davidson will be providing the music, all welcome. Attention members who are going on the bowling tour to Harrogate next May; the cost of the bus must be paid by December 31 please, £55 per person. Payment can be handed in at the bar.

St James

Rev. Colin Mailer leads worship this Sunday when the children’s gift service takes place. The church asks that you bring a gift which will be distributed to disadvantaged children around the area before Christmas. Please label the gift with what age it would suit and also for a boy or girl. On Sunday, December 21 the Boys Brigade is hosting a Christmas Lunch directly after the morning service. Anyone wishing to attend, please write your name on the blackboard within the vestibule. The church will be open from 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 when tea and mince pies will be served prior to the Watchnight Service beginning at 11.30 p.m. All welcome.
