Generous Falkirk Bairns pulled out all the stops to back local charity Kidney Kids Scotland's World Kidney Day appeal.

Shops, businesses and organisations across the district got into party mood to support the event by promoting a series of fundraisers for customers.

And an army of volunteers from the Stenhousemuir-based group worked tirelessly on March 10 to visit dozens of premises with their collection buckets.

Falkirk stores Next, Costa Coffee, McDonalds, Cineworld, Asda and BHS were just a few local outlets happy to be part of the global initiative to highlight kidney health and raise awareness by sporting Kidney Kids official yellow and blue colours.

The theme this year was ‘Kidney Disease and Children: Act early to prevent it!”

Since being launched by Sheena Dunsmore nearly 16 years ago, Kidney Kids Scotland has collected over £1.5 million to help fund treatment for youngsters living with renal and urology issues.
