The Battalion 10th Alternative Worship Event “TurnaBBouT” takes place in Falkirk Town Hall tomorrow (Friday). The theme this year is “To Boldly Go…” in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of “Star Trek” and BB ‘Trekkies’ from all sections will be there to take part, led musically by the Larbert Pentecostal Youth Band ‘RISE’ and Christian outreach speaker Bill Wishart.
This major event for the battalion follows another big day for the Anchor Sections with their fun day at Larbert Old Church on Saturday, January 30, when boys and officers from 14 companies were entertained by No Strings Attached, a Christian puppet group from Edinburgh. Along with refreshments, everyone was well catered for and thanks are due to the staff from 2nd Larbert (Old Church) for facilitating the event.
Another fun night was enjoyed by more than 30 veteran members at Greenpark Centre, Polmont on Saturday, February, February 20, when the local Stedfast Association welcomed colleagues from the Glasgow Association to a games night where ,as well as acquaintances being renewed, they did manage to fit in some table games as well as the ever popular and competitive carpet bowls.
What better way to exercise after the tasty fish suppers provided by the nearby Land and Sea.
More back to BB basics was provided by Christian Faith convener Daniel Green at the Pulpit Fall competition in Larbert Baptist Church hall on Sunday, February 21.
Teams from eight companies illustrated various aspects of their Bible knowledge and impressed the convenor with their detailed knowledge of their subject and did great credit to their preparations.
Winners of the Pulpit Fall were 1st Polmont (Brightons Church) with 5th Larbert (Baptist Church) and 2nd Larbert (Old Church) in the next two places. Well done to all who took part.
