Frank McCafferty took an impressive colour picture of The Kelpies and had it signed and dated by their creator Andy Scott before being framed.

Now he plans to raffle the finished article to raise cash for the Denny charity - and already recruited Falkirk Provost Pat Reid to make the draw!

Frank in banking on the fact that because it is a unique piece of work it will attract a lot of interest.

The 56-year-old housing maintenance manager with Falkirk Council said: “After taking the photograph one night in August and having it printed in large format I contacted Andy to ask if he would autograph it to be put up as a raffle prize and he very kindly agreed.

“Bob Mackintosh at First4frames in Falkirk then framed and glazed it free of charge.

“It’s a high quality piece of work measuring 30x20 and if I say it myself a really classy prize I hope will raise a lot of money for a very good cause.”

The £1 raffle tickets are already on sale in hospice shops and hospice itself. The draw will be made in mid-December.
