More than 100 people have been charged by Forth Valley cops for nearly 300 crimes since a crackdown on housebreaking was launched last year.

Operation RAC has led to 104 individuals being arrested or reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with 291 offences, including over 40 housebreakings.

Approximately £40,000 worth of property has been recovered, much of which has been reunited with its rightful owners.

Detective Inspector David Mitchell of the Forth Valley Division said: “Members of the public can assist police in tackling acquisitive crime by ensuring their homes, businesses and outbuildings are appropriately secured at all times.

“Officers are happy to provide crime prevention and personal safety advice as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping people safe.”
