Fire-hit Falkirk restaurant ready to re-open

A favourite Falkirk restaurant is ready to open its doors again ... more than five months after it was gutted in a blaze.

A devastating fire in the kitchen area forced the closure of Gambero Rosso in the town’s Burnbank Road in October last year.

Nobody was injured in the blaze, thought to have started from an electrical fault in a fridge, but manager Giorgio Onori said at the time that “the whole restaurant” had been effectively destroyed.

The Falkirk Herald reported last month that the planned re-opening of the award-winning restaurant had been delayed but now it has been announced it will be ready to greet customers from Thursday evening, with bookings already being taken
