The blaze broke out at around 12.50am in Smith Street in Merchiston Industrial Estate in Bainsford after a member of the public spotted smoke and raised the alarm.

Neighbours were told they may have to be evacuated as the building contained cylinders of the explosive gas acetylene, which fire fighters had to cool off. The road was closed off with diversions in place while the blaze was tackled.
