Fife town captures Valentine hearts

Cupar in Fife has apparently surfaced as one of the most romantic destinations for a Valentine's Day weekend.

Holidaylettings.co.uk from the travel website TripAdvisor.com has seen an impressive 86 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of enquiries for a romantic break in the area.

The Kingdom’s former County Town lies mid-table in the UK’s top 10, one place behind Grantown-on-Spey in fourth place on 89 per cent with Boat of Garten lying ninth on 53 per cent.

The English village of Carnforth in Lancashire emerged as the top most sought-after romantic getaway with a 126 per cent increase in those seeking a tranquil break this weekend.
