Until Wednesday, November 11, the Falkirk Wheel will be lit up red in tribute to the 2015 Scottish Poppy Appeal.
This is the first time in it’s history the wheel will be shining red and the tourist attraction is hoping to raise awareness of Poppyscotland’s year-round work.
The theme this year is, Donate Like You Mean It and Poppyscotland is aiming to raise as much money as possible so it can continue to support those in the Armed Forces community who need it most.
Head of fundraising, Colin Flinn said: “We are delighted that the Falkirk Wheel is lit up in red for the first time in tribute to the Appeal. It looks stunning and we hope that when people see it they will think about what the poppy means to them and then donate like they mean it so that we can raise even more money to continue our life-changing work.”
People can support the appeal by taking a picture using the hashtag #MyPoppyMeans and sharing it on social media or by texting POPPY to 70800 to give £3 or by going online to www.poppyscotland.org.uk.
