A student has been given the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ by cooking alongside celebrity chef Brian Turner.
Former Falkirk High School pupil Rona Macdonald (18), now studying hospitality management at City of Glasgow College, was one of a handful of students who helped prepare a top notch three-course meal for 60 guests with the former ‘Ready Steady Cook’ helmsman.
Rona, who was inspired to enrol on the course after seeing friends enjoy successful careers in the hospitality industry, said: “Taking part in the event was a fantastic experience and I was really pleased to have the opportunity.
“The course has been great so far and I hope I’ll get to work at more events like this in the future as they are great for helping you develop your skills and confidence.”
The menu, which featured west coast scallop pudding, noisette of lamb stuffed with chicken and wild mushroom, and white chocolate and raspberry trifle, was specially created by Brian to showcase Scotland’s quality produce. It was also designed to help improve students’ technical skills.
