The hunt is once again on for an unsung hero who makes a difference in their community.

For the last 17 years the Rotary Club of Falkirk has made a presentation to an individual whose selfless actions help others.

Sponsoring the Community Achievement Award are The Falkirk Herald and Phoenix Honda, who each provide £200 for the recipient to give to a worthy cause of their choice.

Last year’s winner was grandmother Rosemary Wallace, a stalwart of the Falkirk branch of the British Heart Foundation for almost three decades.

She is still actively involved with fundraising, helping to bring in around £260,000 during her time with the charity.

She is also the main organiser of the 5k Fun Run which takes place annually in Callendar Park.

Send your nominations to Rotary Community Achievement Award, Falkirk Herald, Unit 4A, Gateway Business Park, Beancross Road, Grangemouth, FK3 8WX.

The closing date for nominations is noon on Tuesday, April 15.

Don’t forget to include your own contact details, as well as those of the person you are nominating, along with brief details of why you think they deserve to receive the award and the £400 to present to a local or national good cause.
