Trinity Church

Happy New Year! Our New Year service this Sunday is led by Robert Allan and Kay Brown. It will commence at 11 a.m. and will focus on Jesus ... grows! Tea, coffee and fellowship are available in the Hall after the service. Please note that the M’eating Place Café is closed for the festive break and also for refurbishment. It will reopen on Monday, January 19.

St Andrew’s West

Sunday’s services will be at the usual times of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Crèche for the under 3s, Sunday School for age 3 – P7 and Bible Class for S1-S4 will also take place as usual. The Congregational Prayer Meeting takes place on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. followed by the mid-week Fellowship at 8 p.m. where we will continue our studies in the book of Romans. The New Baby Group and Mother & Toddler Group resume on Thursday, January 8, so if you have a baby aged birth – 12 months or a toddler aged 1-3 years, this is a great opportunity to come along and meet up with other mums and chat together over a cup of tea. The Youth Club for those in P7-S5 resumes on Friday, January 9 from 7.30-9 p.m. and provides a great place for youngsters to meet together and have fun as they share in sports, games and activities. We hope you will consider these services and organisations and assure you a warm welcome if you come along.

Festival Chorus

Falkirk Festival Chorus resumes rehearsals on Sunday, January 11 at 3 p.m. in the main hall of Falkirk Trinity Church. After the success of our annual collaboration with Falkirk Caledonia Choir and Falkirk Tryst Orchestra in the very popular “Bairns’ Christmas”, we return to prepare the two works for our Tryst Festival Concert on May 10, the Messa di Gloria by Puccini and Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen. Olivet Evangelical

The Parent and Toddlers Group is on holiday until Friday, January 9. This Sunday’s services begin at 10 a.m. with Communion followed at 11 a.m. by a time of fellowship with refreshments. At 11.25 a.m. is the first All Age Service of the new year when Richard and Helen Gordon will be sharing the speaking. There will be no Sunday Church prayer meeting since we are joining with Grahamston Evangelical Church for the evening Service at 6 p.m. On Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. the Bible study series on the OT Book of Genesis continues with chapters 22 & 23, entitled ‘ Ultimate Faith & Obedience’. The ‘Young at Heart’ is on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with guest speaker Ken Bleakley from Larbert. At 7 p.m. on Wednesday is the Adult Craft Evening. The first Fellowship Lunch in 2015 will be on Sunday, January 20. The next men’s event is an interest evening on Friday, January 16 when Derek Malcolm gives a talk entitled ‘Turkey at the crossroads’. The next Ladies hour in Leishman Tower is at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, January 12.

Lodge Callendar

On Monday, December 15, a good attendance of members and visitors at Lodge Callendar No. 588 witnessed one candidate being admitted as an Entered Apprentice in due and ancient form, by Right Worshipful Master Bro. William Davidson and his new team of officebearers. The degree work was carried out in a competent and dignified manner. An excellent reply on behalf of visiting brethren was made by Bro. Ronnie Forsyth, RWM, Lodge St John 16. The next meeting will be on Monday, January 5, at 7.30 p.m. and will be a Second Degree. All visiting brethren welcome. Seasons greetings to all.
