A free event designed to give information and advice about Parkinson’s disease will take place in the Park Hotel next week.
Anyone who has the degenerative neurological condition or has a family member affected by it and wants to know more about it can attend the event, taking place from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Jess Bryce, Parkinson’s UK chairperson, said: “We say no one should have to face Parkinson’s disease alone and we want to make sure no one does. We make sure there are people available who know about the disease and can talk to them about it.”
A range of experts, including leading Parkinson’s researchers Dr Tilo Kunath from Edinburgh, Professor Colin Palmer from Dundee, local Parkinson’s nurse Kay Mair and Parkinson’s UK information officer Shona Lawson will be present to give support, advice and answer any questions people may have.
Katherine Crawford, Parkinson’s UK Scotland manager, said: “Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure. This is a great opportunity to find out what support is available from your local branch of Parkinson’s UK.”
