The Falkirk Herald Business Awards are back ... and they promise to be bigger and even better in 2011.

Once again it will be an opportunity to recognise all that is best about enterprise and achievements by firms throughout the district.

Whether it is a one man or woman business or a giant multi-national, this will be an opportunity to compete for that ultimate accolade and achieve recognition from your peer group.

The Royal Bank of Scotland is again on board as the main sponsor and will present the overall winner trophy to the business judged to be the best of all their entries.

The Falkirk Herald will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to an individual who has made a lasting contribution to the district’s economy and business community.

There will also be a new category introduced for 2011 – and it’s one where the public can have their say in nominating the finalists.

Outstanding Restaurant of the Year is where diners can recommend their favourite eating places across the area and the three with the most votes will go through to the judging section.

Launching the awards, Richard Bell, managing director of Johnston (Falkirk) Ltd, publishers of The Falkirk Herald, said he was delighted Scotland’s biggest selling weekly newspaper was again organising the popular event.

He said: “Over the years, the Business Awards have highlighted the breadth and depth of enterprise throughout the area. They have provided an opportunity to recognise those who are at the top of their field and who are making a valuable contribution to ensure the Falkirk area continues to flourish.

“There has already been a lot of interest and we look forward to receiving the entries to discover the innovative and sustainable firms in our district.”

The awards will be presented at a glittering reception on Thursday, November 3, in the Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel, Polmont.
