Rocket man Elton John will be landing in Falkirk this weekend ... and his arrival has got the district in a spin.
The legendary performer will be playing the first-ever concert at The Falkirk Stadium and his appearance is proving to be a bumper pay day for local businesses.
Falkirk Football Club, which along with promoters Marshall Arts, is organising the mammoth event, is looking forward to much-needed close season income.
Hotels, guest houses, restaurants and transport companies are also preparing to deal with the 15,000 people expected to converge on the town this Sunday.
After the gig, there will be a bonus for three firms who will handle the mammoth clear up operation.
Andy Thomson, Falkirk FC director, said everyone at the club was looking forward to the special event.
He said: “All the staff and volunteers have worked very hard to ensure the concert runs smoothly and is a huge success.
“Thanks also to all the support organisations, including Falkirk Council and the emergency services, who have helped with the enormous logistical operation.”
