Falkirk bridge opens in time for school’s return

Work to prop up a pedestrian bridge will be completed this weekend.

Safety concerns led to the closure of the structure over New Hallglen Road being closed two weeks ago.

Now Falkirk Council has announced work to prop up the bridge should be finished tomorrow.

This will mean it will be available for use by children who will be returning to Hallglen Primary School on Monday after the Easter holiday break.

The temporary propping will remain in place until permanent repairs can be carried out during the school summer holidays.
