Volunteers are being recruited by Falkirk Council to carry out ‘patrols’ four times a year of a dedicated route or path.

The Path Warden scheme is open to anyone over 18 and aims to recruit outdoor enthusiasts to work alongside the existing outdoor access team in ensuring paths are accessible and safe

Two days training will be provided including survey techniques, health and safety, first aid and information on local attractions.

Councillor Adrian Mahoney, culture, leisure and tourism spokesperson, said: “The Falkirk area has a fantastic path network that connects many of our local attractions for visitors and local residents alike.

“We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals that enjoy the outdoors and can spare some time during each season to survey paths and undertake minor maintenance with tools that are provided.

“Their work would be invaluable in helping to support this great resource.”

Induction and training starts in August and more information is available from the outdoor rangers team on (01324) 504950 or email [email protected].
