West Lothian’s other Recycling Centres at Oakbank (Livingston), Blackburn and Whitburn will open as normal, 10am-6pm, seven days a week.

A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: “During the period of the closure the roadways will be resurfaced and re-lined and repairs to other infrastructure will be carried out. The works are essential, so to ensure the safety of the public and prevent any possible incidents the sites will have to close whilst they are undertaken.

“We’ve scheduled the works for outwith the Easter school holidays and in advance of the summer, which are traditionally busier periods at the sites. The three other centres will remain open throughout, residents in Linlithgow can use these alternative sites.”
