Forth Environment Link to host annual Green Christmas event online

The charity normally holds the event at the Falkirk Active Travel Hub.
But, this year’s free fair will instead run online from Monday, December 7 until Sunday, December 13.

Hide AdThe event will offer environmentally friendly ways to enjoy the festive season that don’t cost the earth.
Jules Ryan, partnerships and pathways coordinator for FEL, said: “This year is going to feel quite different for us all.
“Covid-19 will no doubt bring an extra level of anxiety to a time of year that is already stressful for many.
“Financial pressures, the inability to see loved ones and the threat of a second lockdown looms heavy over us all.

Hide Ad“As an environmental and community-based charity, we want to do something to bring people together virtually, teach new skills and lift collective spirits.
“This year, we’re focusing on a plastic-free Christmas. We’ll be using ingredients without plastic packaging in all our cooking sessions and showing you how to make an inspiring array of plastic-free gifts!”
Free family friendly workshops will take place, as well as sessions on making mince pies, creating zero waste beauty products, baking fruity biscotti and shortbread stars, creating upcycled Christmas decorations and wreath-making.
There will also be some bike maintenance tips for those hoping to get active this winter and burn off their festive season indulgences.
