Falkirk Council working with families made homeless by Stenhousemuir fire

The local authority has been working to assist the two families who found themselves homeless after the devastating fire in Stenhousemuir’s Ladeside Crescent on Monday night.

The residents of Ladeside Crescent, including a mother and her three children, were left with little more than the clothes on their back after fire engulfed their homes in an incident which saw firefighters from four appliances battle the blaze.

While there might not have been any injuries and the residents were indeed lucky to escape the accidental fire unharmed, they are now faced with the daunting prospect of finding new places to live and replacing all the items that were lost in the fire.

To help them in this regard, a gofundme page has now been set up by a well wisher to raise as much money as possible for the two families and the total as now surpassed £1000.

It stated: “Any money raised will go towards new items for these families who unfortunately have to rebuild from scratch.”

Falkirk Council has also been supporting the families.

A spokesperson said: “We can confirm our local housing team and technical services have been in contact with residents and have carried out inspections of the affected properties.

"Where required, households are being supported to stay with family or friends in the short term, and alternative accommodation is being arranged while necessary works are completed.

"We will continue to engage directly with those affected to ensure appropriate support is in place."
