Pupils at Beancross Primary School are geared up for to start cycling thanks to an exciting and informative display.
As part of the national Give Me Cycle Space campaign, a team from the Riderz stunt bike team showed youngsters spins, jumps and tricks aplenty in the Grangemouth school’s playground yesterday.
Give Me Cycle Space is a Cycling Scotland initiative to encourage more children to cycle to school.
It also aims to create high levels of driver awareness to make the roads around schools more cycle-friendly.
Research shows that although over 30 per cent of children say they want to cycle to school, only around three per cent actually do.
The main barrier is that parents often don’t allow younsgters use their bikes because they are concerned about them cycling on the road.
