Pupils from Carrongrange School went the distance
to raise money for a
new minibus.

The youngsters were sponsored by family and friends to walk, run, dance or skate around the track at Grangmeouth Stadium last Friday. The effort was to help pay for a second wheelchair
accessible minibus for the school, estimated to cost £27,000.

Head teacher Gillian Robertson said: “The total distance covered by pupils and staff, was 500 miles – an absolutely fantastic effort by all concerned. The pupils were amazing, trying so hard to go as far as they could, even when they were really tired.”

The school wishes to thank Tayforth Travel, Bruce Taxis, Fourways Minibuses, JYD Minibus Hire, RW Sneddon and James Adamson for supplying transport free of charge which allowed the event to go ahead.

Thanks also to Neil Kilgour, chairman of Carrongrange School Parent Council, and his wife Maureen, Angie Kirkwood and all the staff at Grangemouth Stadium and Gary Conry from Supertrax Disco.
